  Our Grants

Funding  grassroots change.

Pangea works with grassroots organizations that are embedded in local communities and engaged in work that addresses the self-identified needs of the community.

Our Grantmaking Model

Since 2003 Pangea has partnered with over 80 community-based grassroots organizations in the Global South. Each year we invite existing and new partners to submit applications for funding (we do not accept unsolicited applications for funding).

Through our pods (regional committees) members review applications, and make recommendations for funding to our board of directors.

Our Grant Pillars

Our grantmaking is structured around four pillars: Climate and Environmental Justice, Educating Future Generations, Gender Equity, and Indigenous Rights.

For over twenty years, Pangea has partnered with local grassroots organizations, trusting their expertise to effectively address their communities' self-identified needs.

Our Grant Partners

Since 2003 we have provided $2.1m to 80 grant partners (grantees) in 13 countries. Each year we hold an annual appeal to raise funds for our grant pool which we distribute to our grant partners. Annual membership dues also contribute to the grant pool.

Our Grant Pool

The Pangea Giving Grant Pool is a powerful collaborative funding initiative that empowers grassroots organizations across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to drive sustainable, community-led solutions.

Each year we hold a fund drive to build up this pool for our annual grant awards. You do not need to be a member to help fund our grassroots partners!
